Community Garden

As part of our efforts to increase quality of life for residents of our community, and to increase awareness of healthy eating initiatives, Barrington Neighbors oversees a Community Garden of 34 raised beds.

Feeding a Community

Located on the grounds between Church of Reconciliation and Oaks of Marymont apartments. This garden is available for use by any resident in our surrounding community. Bed Stewards are individuals and families who adopt one of the raised beds to grow fruits and vegetables for use in homes. Many beds already have Stewards, and there are more available if you are interested. Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to inquire.

Educational Opportunities

We are currently looking for knowledgeable volunteers to host educational workshops on how to prepare a the raised bed, tend the garden, and eat healthy. If you are interested or know someone who is, please contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Environmentally Responsible

Our raised beds are watered using an environmentally conscious rain catchment system. The tank collects rain water from the roofs of Church of Reconciliation and stores it for use in the garden.

Barrington Neighbors is currently looking for a volunteer Garden Steward who will oversee our Community Garden. Volunteer duties would be connecting with current bed stewards, recruiting new bed stewards, and coordinating periodic community planting and weeding days at the Garden.
